Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital is located at 715 Fleming St., Hendersonville, NC 28739, (828) 696-1000 or visit www.pardeehospital.org. This full service community hospital is licensed for 222 beds. There are 223 physicians and dentists on staff representing 33 specialties.

Park Ridge Hospital is on Naples Road in Fletcher, NC. P.O. Box 1569, Fletcher, NC 28732, (828) 684-8501. This full-service, multi-specialty 103-bed hospital has 150 physicians on staff.

Hendersonville is located astride or adjacent to Interstate Highways 26 and 40 and US Highways 25, 64 and 176.

Greyhound Bus Lines
Greyhound provides passenger and package service to all major points in the U.S. The terminal is located at 337 Seventh Ave. East in Hendersonville.

Asheville Regional Airport
The airport, located 10 miles north of Hendersonville provides air service to national and international destinations by US Airways, US Airways Express, Atlantic Southeast Airlines (Delta Connector)

Greenville/Spartanburg Jetport
The jetport is located 30 miles from Hendersonville and is served by American, American Eagle, Continental, Delta, USAirways Express, Northwest, United Express, Atlantic Southeast and Comair.

Hendersonville Airport
This in-town airport has a 3,200 ft. paved and lighted runway. Aerolina, the owner of the field, offers charter service to over 14,000 airports in the U.S. Aircraft sales, rentals, maintenance, storage, fuel, flight training, and scenic flights are additional services.

Government Top

City Government
The Hendersonville City government is run by a mayor and council of four. Councilmen are nominated and elected from the city-at-large for a period of four years. The mayor is elected from the city-at-large for a period of four years. The mayor conducts business at City Hall and policy is set by council members. City Council meets the first Thursday after the first Monday of each month at City Hall. For information call (828) 697-3000.

County Government
Henderson County is governed by a Board of Commissioners consisting of five members who are elected to a term of four years. These five then elect a chairperson. The County also has a full time Manager. The Commissioners meet twice monthly, the first Monday and the third Wednesday of each month. For more information, please call (828) 697-4808.

State Government
Two senators and two representatives from Henderson County are among 170 members of the North Carolina General Assembly who meet in Raleigh biennially, in regular session, to adopt a state budget and enact various other laws. The General Assembly is composed of 50 senators and 120 members of the house. State elections are held every two years on a partisan basis, with the Democratic and Republican parties selecting nominees in May primaries to run against each other in November elections.
